wifi led blinks


hi,
i am using ubuntu on inspiron 6400. when i disable the wifi the led of wifi
still blinks. is it ok?

It is most likely just the network manager scanning for available access points. If it concerns you you can go into System -> administration -> network and create a profile with the "roaming mode" disables on the wireless.

I had to do something similar as I found that the network-manager scanning for AP's would cause a regular and annoying drop-out in Skype calls. So I created a profile for my home wireless network where the wireless is manually configured which I called "Home" and I save the default set up as a profile called "Roaming" for when I'm out and about.
