WIFI dongle...

Hi all,

I need to interface an USB wifi dongle to a pxa255 board.

It runs 2.4.18 kernel. I already compiled the kernel with
wireless support. Does anyone has implemented this project with any commercial usb dongle.

If you have any experience, please share with me...so that i can get some information on it...

Not knowing anything about the nic it is just a guess. If windows inf driver exist for it then use ndiswrapper. Not sure if ndiswrapper latest version has dropped 2.4 kernels. You may need to locate and older version that works with 2.4 kernels. The ndiswrapper website will mention the requirements needed.

Reading the ndiswrapper site describes ndiswrapper as a module built for the running kernel and calls the Windows inf driver used to interface with the nic.

Now there is some linux support for conexant but not sure if it supports the USB interface ones. Using Google search should help you with that.
