wifi doesn`t work
 
it`s about a laptop toshiba a75 with a atheros 5212 wifi built in. it uses latest ubuntu, but the wireless led is dead, and also ubuntu doesn`t detect the hardware.

I would have thought that the latest ubuntu would see it. The ath5k driver is in recent kernels, and unless it's specifically not compiled in, it should be there. You might look at "/boot/config-`uname -r`" (note the backquotes) to see if it contains "CONFIG_ATH5K=m". If it doesn't, changing it won't help; you'd need a different kernel.
