I am currently running Red Hat Linux kernel 2.4.22 on a 20 node cluster. All of the node boot on Lan from my node 0. Because of it looks like we are going to get hit by a hurricane this weekend, I brought the node 0 home to finish up some work. Ok the problem is an application I norally run requires me to pick folders with the mouse. Normally, I us a two button mouse. When I fired the system up at home with a differenct three button mouse the way I normally pick/drag and drop didn't work. So I hooked up a two button mouse. The two button mouse functioned but didn't work for letting me drag and drop with the middle button. So went back to the two button mouse. I then setup the mouse in X as the correct mouse with 3 buttons emulated (this was done as a user not root.) Mouse seemed to be working I but still couldn't drop. Was looking to try another mouse so rebooted. Ever since, the mouse will not move when X comes up. Though maybe I burnt the mouse port - so I moved the hard drive to another machine which showed the same behavior. I am at a loss at this point but despertly need to get the mouse working. Any ideals let me know
