Question Why can't I get proper display on my 40" LCD TV?

I am using a Fedora 10 on a Phenom MB with 8 GB of memory and a Geforce 9500 GT video card. The video card has two dvi connections which allows for dual video connections but OFCOURSE the software is only for Windows. NVidia certainly supplies an excellent driver for my video, but I cannot figure how to make it give me "DualView" that I can set up in Windows.

The NVidia Display settings offers "TwinView" and I assume that is the same, but when I install two dvi connections (one to my 19" monitor, the other to my Samsung 40" LCD 1080 i/p tv) it only sees the monitor as being connected. I had made sure to reboot for the "TwinView"/"DualView" to actualize but nothing happened. I do not understand why?

Can anyone help me? I know it works beautifully in Windows because my neighbor has the exact same tv but only uses Windows. What do I need to do?

fedora 10 got rid of xorg.conf
you will need to wright one with the settings for the 19" monitor ,and for Samsung 40" LCD 1080

off hand i don't know the settings

and install the akmod-nvidia (rpmfusion-nonfree-updates) so that every time a new kernel is updated the driver is rebuilt

if you installed the nvidia.run you will need to uninstall it first
Code:
sh nvidia.run --uninstall

Question I forgot to mention the other part of the problem.

When I connect the tv to the dvi connection that the monitor is connected to I am able to get a display on the tv but even though the tv automatically shifts to 1920 x 1080 the display is only what I had originally set for the monitor. Of course, the video card and nvidia now see I am using a different monitor and as such allows me to reset the display (supposedly) to 1920 x 1080 but I see a varied size display.

Games, movie players, audio players like xmms are displayed appropriately, but the screen itself is more similar to something between 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768, while browsers are very distorted. The browsers appear to look like they are similar to 640 x 480 on a 19" monitor. Very large indeed. I am able to shrink the web pages to a more appropriate size, but that does nothing to the actual browser.

So again I must plead for help from someone. Please help! All help will be great appreciated.

Question slight correction John VV

I do not know why, but my FC 10 has xorg.conf. That may be due to me upgrading directly from FC9 to FC10 which kept some FC9 programs active if they were not upgradable. However, I still have no idea how to adjust it for the 40" tv. Of course, I do not even know if FC 10 is using the xorg.conf since you say FC10 does not come with it. That may even explain some of why the display is somewhat distorted. In any case, I am still very confused about what to do aand thank you for your help. Any further help from you or anyone is certainly appreciated.

Take a look at this thread, specifically post #58

http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1124014

It should give you some ideas on how to properly setup Twinview for FC10.

Check out this site too.

if there is a xorg.conf( from f9 or a hand wrote one) then IT overrides the auto detect/autosetup code in fedora 10
