Which way do you mount front case fans?
I always thought you mount them so they blow air INTO the case, towards the back. My school of thought was this will sweep the hot air from the processor, and push it to the back case fan which is blowing hot air OUT of the case.
I called a computer store today looking for fan screws and the guy mentioned that I should install my front case fans blowing air OUT of the case (out the front). Now that I think about it most cases have front air grills (I wondered what they were for) so now I'm kind of confused. I'm putting my new computer back together now, and I ended up taking his advice and mounted my front fans to blow air out the front. I hope this is the right way, because I'm about to put my HDD in and those things are a pain to position and screw in. |

look under "the lab" and "fan switching faq" you want to suck more air in than blow out (so you can filter it, and prevent dust) I like my fans sucking in the bottom and blowing out the top and sucking in the front and blowing out the back OF MY CASE!!! titanium_geek |
