Which Server configuration will be suitable for Linux Operating system?

Dear Friends,
I am planning to buy a good moderate server machine for my lab.

I want to know the standard server configuration for Linux.

Kindly help me with this regard.

what does a "stndard server configuration" mean? You're going to find that most distro's install just fine on 99% of servers. It's things like high performance graphics cards and such where things can be more touch and go, but a server... you'll be fine.
