which modem should i buy for rh7.3?

ok.... very new to linux here... (obviesly) I am running a comp w/ a fresh install of redhat7.3.... and i want to buy a modem for it.. and i was looking for a modem that is FULLY-compatible with rh7.3.....and i don't wanna have to search for drivers, or go through any mass configuration for an install... basically plug-n-play if it exists... thank you very much...

external serial modems, like the usr sportsers are completely compatable. just hook it up, tell your dialer program which ttys (com port) it on, and your done, no muss no fuss.

Incidentally, PC Magazine did a review of modems a few years back where they found substantial differences in performance. The Supra external v.90 modem performed better than all the others in pretty much every category (best data rate for line quality, best interoperation with the others, etc.). This surprised me, since I thought of Supra as a sort of 'also-ran' brand. The Supra was also in about the bottom third, price-wise.

internal:
Actiontec 56K Call Waiting, U.S.Robotics Performance Pro (model 5610B)
- detected both by RedHat 7.3 (not SuSE though).
