Which low-end video card for 2d

Looking for good video cards for non-game 2D aplications
to run in AGP slot under RH8.0

Mostly xterm, Open Office, Gimp and Mozilla. Need 1200x1020 res,
24-bit color, fast bit-blt, stable display and price are impertent in that order. NVIDIA cards seem like overkill.

What is the best _2D_ graphic engine chip set under XFree86?

Well I don't own one but Matrox looks to make good 2d graphic cards and I think they work quite well under linux.

Just go check their products

Thx,

Definitely you want a Matrox! They are the best in 2D quality. And there's no problem with XFree86 drivers, most Matrox cards will work with the generic mga. I myself have a G550 dual-head (not so low-end) and it's beautiful!
