Which filesystem should I use?

I am upgrading my system, mainly I the form of adding a second hard disk.
I have a working linux system on my first HD (40 gig). The new drive will be 250 gig, and I intent to use it as a media center, that is, for storage of ogg, videos and DVD's.

What filesystem should I use on this new HD? Originally I thought there was no debate, that, ext3 would be the norm, but now I have heard that ReiserFS may be more suited to my purpose.

Does anyone have any comment before I go off to research this?

thanks for any opinions

ben.

This has been discussed many times, there are many threads you can look over. Arguably, there are two main choices, ext3 or reiser as you seem to know already. They are both journalled, and thus very stable, at least in my experience. Marginally, ext3 may be very slightly more stable and reiser on the otherhand marginally faster, especially on smaller files. Also, reiser is said to be slightly more space efficient. Either is a good choice. Myself, I've been using reiserfs almost exclusively for the past 2 years without a problem.
