Which are compatible?

Hi all,
I've got a piece of Portfolio work to do and it's to do with image reproduction and editing. As I'm the only one in my class who uses linux I always promote linux software or hardware over winddoze considering everyone else only uses windoze (unique work :p). For example they'll all be talking about Adobe products where as I'm looking at the GIMP.

Anyway.. Can anyone tell me about any of the following hardware that is linux compatible (preferably ones with drivers where you don't have to mess about too much):

Film Scanners
Digital Cameras
Memory Card Readers

Thanks..
