Where is the parallel port?

Hi,

I'm currently working on a embedded system, with a XScale processor, and a linux port for it (I don't know exactly, but I think is based on debian, but, without debian packages suport).

The problem is the parallel port. The computer features a parallel port, but I have no link in the /dev directory. I'm using right now kernel 2.4.26, and I don't know what to do or where to start, so I would thanks any info in any direction.

Thanks in advance.

a parallel port is usually /dev/lpx with x being some number, probably 0.

Yes, I expect that, but there is no /dev/lpx. I tried to create it myself, with no luck.

Yes, I set the options myself, and then compiled.
