Where can I get an IR receiver for a remote control?
I have a Ubuntu computer I use mainly as a media center. I keep lots of music, and video files on it and watch the video through my TV. Up until now I have just used the keyboard and the mouse to control everything, but I would love to be able to use a remote to pause video, turn up the volume and other simple stuff. I have checked out lirc.org and see that lots of remote controls can be made to work with Linux. That's great. But as for the IR receiver for remote controls it seems that people are either building their own (as in building with a soldering iron) or using one that comes with a Hauppauge card, ATI card or something similar (neither of which I have).
Is there anywhere I can buy a simple IR receiver that I could plug into a USB socket and use with a remote control?
