Ok, badly phrased question. What I mean is: How can I check which port number Linux is using for a LPD printer?

Any help would be great.

I still do not understand the question. Can you rephase the question again?

What do you mean by port Device ID, network TCP port?
Are you trying to share a printer over the network?
Which PC/OS is connected to the printer?
What is the make/model of the printer?
What type of interface does this printer use, USB or parallel.

And what are you trying to accomplish?
