Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question weired scroll-wheel problem

Hi all,

I've got a real weired problem with my "Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse".
With system-config-mouse I told my FC2 that my mouse is a "Generic Wheel Mouse (PS/2)" but when I scroll-down with the wheel it scrolls 2 lines and than does nothing anymore. The rest of the buttons are still working but not the wheel.
Any posts I could find so far are all about changing the protocoll in xorg.conf from "PS/2" to "IMPS/2" but my system is already configured that way (see below).

xorg.conf:
Code:
Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Mouse0"
        Driver "mouse"
        Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
        Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
        Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection
It's definetly not a hardware problem since the mouse works fine under Windoze and it also has worked fine under Linux until I updated my system from FC1 to FC2.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance!

tom

Try adding this line in with the other options:
Code:
Option "Buttons" "5"

Thanks for the hint but it didn't work. Acutally the mouse still shows the same strange behaviour than without this added line in my xorg.conf
