Question Weird battery problems Suse 9.3

I am new to Suse linux, normally I use FC3 or FC4..

The thing is, everything works amazingly with Suse 9.3 (kernel 2.6.11.4-21.8-default), even the IPW2200 module worked out-of-the-box with WPA

Recently I bought a second battery for my Acer Travelmate 8002LCiB, which fits nicely into my mediabay (in place of the DVD-rom). With windows this battery works without problems. Fedora Core 4 also no problems.
But when I use it with my Suse 9.3 distro, my keyboard and mouse start working extremely erratically.. So bad I cannot work at all.. When I pull out the second battery, no problems anymore..

ACPI is working just fine, cause with one battery everything works.. When I put the battery back again, same problem (also issueing the command 'dmesg | grep -i acpi tells me all's well)..

When I look at dmesg (at the end), I get the following message:
psmouse.c: issuing reconnect request
psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio4/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away.
psmouse.c: issuing reconnect request

And that for about 20 times :S
Looked this up with google, but all answers there don't help me :'( I did see somewhere that this could be a case of a 'traffic jam' with the IRQ, because the Suse battery monitor and the touchpad driver seem to be on the same IRQ? Tried to disable kPowersave (really don't know if it would make any difference) but this did nothing..

If you need me to throw some output from my system, please ask!

I've found something else.. When I connect an external USB mouse, problem does exist, but USB mouse keeps moving (though jumpy).
Also when I set the powersettings (with Kpowersave) to "Performance" (both CPU Frequency policy and active scheme), this problem does not exist with the second battery.
When I put the settings to "Powersave" (which you would want working on only batteries) the problem pops up again..
Also, when this problem pops up, after about 5-10 minutes my system becomes totally unusable (sync loss continuasly, including keyboard). When I take out the second battery again, system is stable and workable again..

Is there something I am forgetting or that I am doing wrong?
I've installed all available security updates, including some recommended updates..

Thank you in advance for any feedback!!

Try 'cat /proc/interrupts' to check for IRQ conflicts.

Thank you for your reply!!

When I issue this command I get the following:

CPU0
0: 292050 XT-PIC timer
1: 113 XT-PIC i8042
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
6: 2147 XT-PIC uhci_hcd, uhci_hcd, uhci_hcd, yenta, yenta, yenta, eth1
7: 8 XT-PIC parport0
8: 2 XT-PIC rtc
9: 10827 XT-PIC acpi
10: 4425 XT-PIC ohci1394, ehci_hcd, Intel 82801DB-ICH4, ipw2200
12: 3295 XT-PIC i8042
14: 16870 XT-PIC ide0
NMI: 0
LOC: 0
ERR: 0
MIS: 0

So I don't think there are any conflicts?
This is the same information when I put my second battery in (and this is when it takes about 5 minutes for me to get this info ).
