I have installed Fedora 8 on HP Pavilion dv6670 laptop, but unable to use the webcam, can some one pls suggest from where can i get the drivers for the Webcam.
It would be helpful to know the chipset the camera uses, I didn't see anything in that device list that stands out as an identifiable webcam. Try posting the output of lsusb, or if you are still running Windows, you may be able to find out in the Device Manager.

Hi,
I have managed to download the source from http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#download and compile them for my kernel. Now the webcam is getting detected as "HP Webcam" but unfortunately i am not able to view the video output as the applications are crashing ( i have tried wsnap & camstream) both of them are crashing.
Pls advise. Below is the output from /var/log/dmesg file
cat /var/log/dmesg | grep HP
uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device HP Webcam (064e:a110)
[Ankur@Ankur ~]$ /sbin/lsusb

after which install aMSN , it has got a cam shooter plug-in , which will help you to take pictures using webcam. I don't remember the standalone camshooter name, but will dig it up for you.
