want to connect mobile phone to ubuntu
I have a laptop and desktop that run Ubuntu. I want to connect my mobile phone. I'm not having much success with anything that I try. I hope that someone has solved or resolved these issues for Win-mobile phones before I input a long list of messages and stuff. - Bluetooth wants to do so many things that I suspect auto-magic config gets in its own way.
- phone as modem
- phone as thumb-disk storage
- phone as media file device
- phone as speaker-headset
- sync calendar, address and task data
- Ubuntu recognizes the phone device on Cable connect but none of the down stream configuration happens.

- I've read about "synce" but have been unable to make it work either ... primarily because I cannot make synce see the device that the phone becomes when it connects mechanically.
