Want to build a computer-Need suggestions on Linux compatible parts
 

hey, I'd like to build a computer, an offordable one though. I was wondering what brand names I should use, I know Intel's driver are open source, but who else? Something that installs nice. I want this computer to be fast, good for games and such. If you know the prices off hand, please, do tell. Thanks

I don't think you'll get a useful answer on prices if you don't state in which country you reside. Mind you, with a very general question like this, you still might not...

Two things, decide what your budget is and decide exactly what you need this pc to do. What are your priorities?
Web browsing, word processing, emailing etc are easily dealt with.
nvidia's graphics drivers are generally acknowledged to be more Linux- friendly than ATI's.
You mentioned games which is a bit disconcerting. Linux is not big on games generally speaking, so you would probably be best using Windows if gaming is a major priority.
With a dual core processor which supports virtualisation, you can run Windows in "Wine" on a Linux pc.

Alternatively, you may be able to buy a ready built pc (new or used) which is Linux-compatible and is favourably priced.

would help if you stated your budget as well.. that way we are not recommending a $250.00 video card when your overall budget would only allow a $70.00 card.

I like the reviews over at http://www.phoronix.com for picking out Motherboards and CPU's for Linux.
intel or intel Chipset motherboards are supported rather well, be careful if you are looking at a really new motherboard through, as it may not be fully supported yet (that's where the phoronix reviews come in handy)..

nVidia or ATI for Graphics cards.

Antek makes nice cases that are easy to work with, and have decent power supplies by default.
