vodafone huawei installation with mandriva powerpack2008 wanted
Hi, at home i use mandriva powerpack 2008 with 2.6.22 kernel (whatever that means), but have no web-connection. usually i read mails etc. at the public library (BLB Karlsruhe) where they also run some sort of linux/unix.
He who lives with me in my house lend me a vodafone mobile connection usb-stick which auto-installs well under windows, whereas i would very much prefer to use it with my mandriva. how can i bring mandriva to use that stick? |
Not sure exactly which modem you have, but you could try this:
Mandriva Control Center -> Network & Internet -> Set up new network interface -> GPRS/Edge/3G This worked ok with a Huawei E220 HSDPA modem. |
If the above advice doesn't work, we need to know more about your USB-stick:
Plug it in and post the output of lsusb in a terminal - that will tell us exactly what it is. |
