Question Viewsonic monitor E90fb

Well lets see I have a list but I think I'll kill one thing at a time.

Well according to the driver list in my Red Hat 8.0 there isn't any driver for View sonic 19" (18" viewable) E90fb. If I manualy configure the refresh rate and dpi I can go as high as 1600x1200 which is what the monitor can do.... But I can't go over 16bit and I know it can get 32bit color. Is this a graphics card issue? (Note: just upgraded the latest Kernel, but does not matter the older kernel did the same thing.)

Can you help me?

I did take a look around for a linux driver on the net but found nothing.

Yes probably, the limitation is most likely your card. Also that list of monitors in RedHat's configurator doesn't determine a driver for it, all the list is really is a library of well known vert and horiz refresh rates anyway.

You upgraded from one version of 2.4.18 to at most 2.4.19, and as far as I know there might have been a few changes to some of the DRI modules for about 3-4 cards... but the kernel really doesn't handle graphics, X does, and you have the newest existing version of that: 4.2.1

If that card can handle 32-bit at that high a resolution, its probably a configuration issue in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Cheers,
