Video Problems
Linux newbie here. I just intalled Red Hat 7.2 and am having problems with the video.
I don't know if anyone can help me, as this seems very system specific, but here goes:
I installed as a dual boot with win98 on a Gateway G6-333c. The install went fine, just a problem with X. I can't get a graphical login, so I tried some different settings using Xconfigurator with no further luck.
The problem seems to be with locating the correct video drivers. The motherboard is an Anigma Pentium II w/ Integrated AGP/Audio/DVD. The only thing I could find out about the video is that it was manufactured by Chromatic Research, Inc. It is a MPACT-2 Media Processor and has 4MB of RDRAM.
Of course, there is no listing in Red Hat for this type of graphics processor. So I chose "Unlisted" to no avail. My monitor is listed (Gateway EV700) so that seems to be fine.
If anyone has a resolution, or suggestion, I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks.
