I'm browsing the net 2 days already. Browsing for nothing but how to get my video card running correctly on my Fedora 4. Well, my video card is running but with generic drivers and as follows with no XVideo support. As a result it's not possible to watch a single movie. So, I have an appeal to all the people who are in with this problem. If there is some one who knows how to get XVideo running with the integrated video card (into Intel 945g chipset) - Please write me a line here.
Without drivers for my integrated video card I can not play movies using xv. I'm using mplayer for watching movies and tried with OpenGL to play movies however the results are neither good nor close to watchable. It looks like no one knows an existing way of setting my video card to wok... then my next question is: Is there a way to configure OpenGL for better performance?
sorry for posting again on this thread, however I'm still searching and could not find drivers for my video card: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950. I read up "the whole" intel.com, and only found that there's drivers but only provided from third parties. I searched google for such drivers, however there's no results for me. I'll ask again here for help. So if anyone know where to find suitable drivers, please write me.
I have a Dell Dimension 5100 with the on-motherboard sound device. It works fine on Windows but is not recognised by Linux Fedora Core 4. Does anyone know where to get the driver ?

I recompiled kernel (2.6) with the "Intel HDA" option; that worked for me.
However, I'm having the same problem as the OP; I cannot have xvideo. The Xorg 'i810' driver doesn't support this chipset (yet?).
Update: I've found that both X.org and XFree86 do have support for the i945G chipset, although only in the development branch. I have downloaded the latest X.org 6.8.99.16 from http://xorg.freedesktop.org/snapshots/, but haven't compiled/installed it yet. I'm hopefull...
