Video Driver for HP TouchSmart

HP TouchSmart IQ500t
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400
Linux REL 4 64 bit OS

Tried installing latest NVIDIA driver (NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-180.29-pkg2) from NVIDIA website for this video card, and the display was not appearing correctly. There was a lot of garbage at the top of the monitor. Half of the desktop screen was missing.

Has anyone had any luck with this video card?

you said tried did you build it and install it or not. so after you I guess install the nvidia kernel did you run as root nvidia-settings and set up the disply. good luck. when you installed the nvidia kernel (driver) you were asked to change the xorg config. so as root open a terminal type nvidia-xconfig then log out login then do a nvidia-settings and set your stuff up.
