Video Card Drivers

I just downloaded the new drivers for my 9600, its an rpm and it opens with kpackage but it wont let me instlall them because i have to have the admin password which I have already tried but it wont work. I tried nothing for the password and I tried the password that I "set"

It's probably not the password. Try installing from an xterm.

su -c "rpm -ivh /path/to/package.rpm"

You'll probably also have to use the --force option as well, because the ATI drivers install some libs that conflict with the XFree86 libs already installed.

Which of your distros are you installing under?
