video capture card
Hi everybody ,
I have a problem with my video capture card, it's a captivator PCI from Videologic. When I want to install it with the insmod command it doesn't match. ==> bttv0: using: BT848A( *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC **) [card=0,autodetected] So I would like to use the card option from the insmod command like following : insmod bttv card=x But the problem is that I don't know the number I have to write at the place of the x. I have a list of card but I don't see mine !!! Could someone help me and give me the number I should try ??? thanks |
if it's not on there just try a load.
rmmod bttv; insmod bttv card=#; xawtv just keep running that, increasing the number each time till you get a good'un. that's if you use xawtv of course... |
You can also have a look in the bttv documentation which you will find if you have the kernel source installed. Look in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/bttv/ for the CARDLIST and Cards files.

More problem than before...............
I have fund the number of my card and it's perfect but know when I try to launch xawtv or vic (video conferencing tool ) I only see a blue screen . I looked at the xawt faq but it didn't help me , so if someone know what I can do to remove the blue screen, it would be nice . |
erm, how can it be perfect if you only get a blue screen???
try setting the right frequency table, colours etc... just like you normally would anywhere else. |
Hi,
Well I'd like very much to set the right frequency table and colours ..... but what does it mean I am a :newbie: !!! What I just know to do is to set the Port ( Televesion, Composite, S-Video ), the Signal ( NTSC, PAL, SECAM ) and that's all for the transmition using vic. And for Xawtv I know nothing ...:study: |
