Video and RAID issues with Mandrake install

OK~Again I aplogize for the most likely simple question. I am attempting to install Mandrake 9.1. I boot CD1 and I get the screen asking to hit F1 for more options or enter to continue. If I hit enter the screen goes black and nothing happens. If I choose F1 and then a text install everything goes ok until it asks for my RAID driver. I tell it to use the ataraid driver and it says it found hardware for it but then when I click next it tells me there is no drive to install to. AM I doing something wrong or am I just doomed? Thanx for any info as always!

The raid driver that you need may be different then the ataraid module, what RAID card is it that you have exactly, also what's the video card that's making a framebuffering X freak out? Newer Nvidia? ATI?
