VIA VT1612 sound chip

I am trying to run Mepis I like the linux OS but I have no sound it is onboard sound on a Soyo SY-K7VME motherboard with a VIA VT1612 2 channel audio codec so I need some help or it is back to XP pro.

the oss module should be via82cxxx-ausio
the alsa one should be snd-via82xx

I recommand using alsa. You can find goog startup point at http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc...dor-VIA#matrix
