VIA sound card
 

I just got Slackware 9.1 installed and have no sound at all. I am using kernel 2.4.22.

According to the Info Center - sound I have the following installed but when I try to play a sound nothing comes out. And I have no idea what to do to verify that it is installed correctly and if it isn't what to do to try and fix it.

Sound Driver:3.8.1a - 980706 (ALSA v0.9.6 emulation code)

Installed drivers:
Type 10:ALSA Emulation

Card config:
VIA 82C686A/B rev 21 at 0x1000 irq 11

Audio devices:
0: VIA 82C686A/B rev 21 ( DUPLEX )

I hope that info helps if not let me know what you will need and I will try to find it for you.

Well I guess I will see what happens after I install the latest kernel then maybe post again to see if I can get some help.

I have ran the sound config and it goes just fine but it just wont play sound
