VIA mini-itx server

I am planning on building a new server soon. To save energy and space, I am thinking of using a VIA EPIA 10000 1 GHz motherboard. I'll probably use RedHat 9.0, running Apache, MySQL, PHP, Postfix, etc. No graphical apps. Anyone used one of these boards in a server before? Any thoughts?

Also, just out of curiosity could I simply disable the onboard video? I'd only need SSH and maybe Webmin in order to admin it.

i run a c3 800mz board (animalsnes on mini-itx.com) with no problems. no reason it wouldn't make a reasonable server. i woldn't disable video.. always handy to be able to hook up a monitor if need be.

also, we'd be grateful if you would kindly remove that link from your signature, lq.org does not permit advertising, regardless of wether you might get a free fictional ipod or not

How much power does your board consume? What size power supply does it use?

Sorry about the link...

well i'm a bit of a freak as far as my system goes as it has no moving parts. having said that the morex 55w psu it really over powerd still.. i think the board actually uses something about 15 to 20 watts. you can run an ide drive of a 55-60w psu, but adding a full sized cdrom too you'll need more power. naturally laptop components are good. the mini-itx store has loads of lower power (and thus quiet) parts.
