"/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed"

My system has some new problem communicating with my laser printer. (It's not the printer; I've figured out that much.) I looked at the IPP report; the only thing it says that obviously looks wrong is "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed." What could that mean? Does it indicate I'm probably missing some important piece of software? All I can gather is that it's a problem with cups or foomatic. I know what driver my laser printer (HP P1006) needs (the foo2xqx component of foo2zjs) and have reinstalled foo2zjs repeatedly.

Try to change the LogLevel directive in cupsd.conf to:

Code:
LogeLevel debug2
to get more information about your problem.
