Using GRUB to boot off a cd-rom.

Hello,
I have succesfully installed Red Hat Linux 9 onto my laptop, I want to readjust the
partitions of my system (shrink the Windows D: partition).

I can't find disk druid under my Linux partition, and GRUB won't let me boot from the
cd-rom drive.

Can anyone provide any suggestions? I've tried a Google search, and writing a script to grep every manual page under Linux.

Cheers,
Michael

I think that GRUB doesn't support booting from CD-ROM. Set it up in BIOS.

Welcome to LQ msar. As Not Now John indicated, you can adjust the boot sequence from within BIOS. When you first power on your machine, while it's still starting up, you will need to press a certain key (proabably F2 or F12) in order to enter the BIOS settings. I will guess that your machine is set to either boot from the hard drive or a floppy before the CD, and in order to change it, you just need to move the CD to the top of the list. Save your changes, make sure the Redhat CD is in the drive, then reboot. That ought to do it -- J.W.
