usb voice recorder (SONY ICD-P210)

Hi all,
Has anyone out there gotten linux to recognize one of these voice recorders? I am running slackware 10.0 and all I get from tail -f /var/log/messages is:

nothing more.

Anybody have any ideas?

I'm working on this too. The only thing I can think of is to connect the headphone jack of the voice recorder to the mic jack of the computer, and to transfer the sound that way. Not the best method, but it's something.
