USB UPS - What's the Device?

How do you specify the equivalent of the serial port for a USB HID device?

The kernel see the two HID USB devices I have but I cannot access the USB UPS. For a serial UPS on the first serial, it's /dev/ttyS0. I've tried /dev/hid0 /dev/hiddev0 (closest match to stuff in the logs) but these either aren't correct of the device is bad.

I don't know about a UPS but my USB camera is /dev/sda.
If it is in fact /sda then it should show up here:
cat /proc/scsi/scsi
And perhaps you could glean info from
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

I wonder if you have to mount it too? That might be a ridiculous question.

As I understand it, things like USB cameras are treated like block devices and, as you say, you mount them. This UPS is treated as a human interface device (HID) and, as near as I can tell, is not mounted. USB keyboards and mice are also HIDs.

I thing that the monitoring software is part of the problem. The last time I looked, it was using /dev/usb0 but single not working. Haven't had a change to fool with it but 0 may be the joystick.
