USB to SCSI adapter support for Linux?

Hi,

Anyone here know if Linux supports any USB to SCSI adapters? I don't have one yet. Trying to do a little researc before I buy. I'm primarily looking for support with these two USB 2.o adapters:

1) USB-XFormer (Compucable or Addlogic)
2) Adaptec USB2Xchange

I've searched as much as I can. Can't find anything useful on the XFormer. There are some support discussions on usenet for the Xchange but not a lot to go on. Anyone actually use one of these with Linux? If so, does it require one of those funky firmware uploads for each use?

See the CONFIG_USB_STORAGE item when configuring linux-2.6 kernels; here is a quotation from the .config file:
Quote:
NOTE: USB_STORAGE enables SCSI and 'SCSI disk support ... ; see USB_STORAGE Help for more information.

yeah, i've looked through the kernel config interfaces and everything scsi related in the Documentation folder. it's not supported... at least not easily. i'm better off with a cardbus approach.
