USB SIM Card Reader...Any Linux editing Programs?

I have a USB SIM Card Reader which uses the PL2303 chipset which comes installed already in Suse 10.3. When I plug it in though, I get nothing? I do a lsusb -v and it shows the USB device. What program do I use to access the Sim Reader? I tried WAMMU, but it only works on phones. Thanks

The PL2303 is a very generic USB->Serial chipset. Under Linux, you will get a device like /dev/ttyUSB0 that maps to your SIM Card Reader. Apparently SIM cards appear as a serial device that understand a handful of very basic commands.

Thanks for the reply

BUT, how do I access the reader? It shows up with lsusb -v and the drivers are installed, but when I plug it in I get nothing. Thanks

As far as I can see, monoSIM only allows backup/restore of the phone book.

Are there any applications which will read SMS messages off the SIM?
