USB RS232 Converter problem

Hi, I have a USB RS232 converter cable which is recognised by the OS as shown with lsusb

Code:

Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04b4:5500 Cypress Semiconductor Corp. HID->COM RS232 Adapter
but dmesg indicates a problem:

Code:

[  231.219401] usb 2-2.3: new low speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5
[  231.367247] usb 2-2.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[  231.367394] usb 2-2.3: can't set config #1, error -32

Hopefully something simple to sort out, but I have no idea how to proceed. Any pointers please?

Looks like it's supported by the standard usb-serial driver..

Well thanks for that, at least I know it should work now. Does anyone know what the error number signifies, or have any experience with playing around with these configs? Or even, how to play with the config?
