Hi!
I have recently installed Mandrake 10.1 and it runs pretty well! However, I have not been able to install any USB connecting hardware (i.e.: Lexmark z700, HP Scanjet 4070 and a Labtec web-cam). The system will not boot if any USB is connected, and once the system is up and running if a USB connector is put in, the following message shows up:

adsl-69-107-101-187 kernel: Disabling IRQ #21
From the $dmesg, I got the following report:

Disabling IRQ #21
Originally posted by padeco Thank you for that, but, I am not sure how to go about to check the BIOS setting. Would you be able to give a hint, please!
thanks,

I believe that newbs are our friends, however if you do not know how to go into BIOS and look at IRQ allocations you REALLY need to go to the book store and buy a A+ Certification prep guid and at least read the hardware side of it.
If you dont wanna do that then just poke arround in BIOS and remember not to save when u exit.
There is a problem with USB on both Mandrake 10.1 and FC3 there is a large amount of traffic on this subject on the REDHAT Bugzilla site.
The problem does seem to be a hardware / driver incompatability for some configurations, currently no one seems to have a definitive explanation / solution..
