USB Mouse in Mandriva

I just installed Mandriva 2005 LE on my Gateway M275 tablet PC, and my Optical USB mouse isn't working. It's lighting up, and it worked when Linux was installing, but now the only thing that works is my touchpad. The drivers for it are installed just fine, it shows up in harddrake as a known piece of hardware, it's just not working. Any suggestions?

Ok, I got it working, but now it's very jumpy. The touchpad still works perfect, but the USB Optical mouse jumps all over the place. It's weird.

Sorry to bump my own post but I really need help with this. Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't.
