I have a Yamaha keyboard that is about 2 years old and it has midi ports on the back. I have been looking for a connector and found that they are 5 pin din to usb. I am interested to see if anyone could recommend a connector or if any will do? I want to start recording/mixing tracks with Audacity.

The game port is also a midi port. You just need a 15 pole D-Sub midi/game port cable. Any decent musical store or electrical supplier (i.e. Maplins or Radioshack) should have them.

But can you still get motherboards with game ports?
One of the big names in Midi->USB adaptors is Roland, under the name Edirol. Here's a review of one of their products, which includes a link to the linux driver.
