USB Keyboard & Mouse won't allow input on boot

I have a Logitech G15 Keyboard and a Microsoft/Razer Habu mouse (both USB), and when I have both devices plugged-in on boot my keyboard is dead until the OS loads (i.e. - I can't select items in GRUB, it loads the default after 10 secs). However, if I unplug the mouse before booting it works fine. I've tried them both in different USB ports to no avail. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

My G15 works in LILO here, though I have a PS/2 mouse.

How old is the machine and/or motherboard? I could be that it doesn't have native USB input support, or at least not very good support for it. You might want to try looking into the BIOS to see if there is an option for "Legacy USB" or similar. This will make USB device emulate PS/2, and should get them working in the boot loader.

Thanks for the response ms3fgx. In regards to your question, the machine is about 2 years old (?), mobo is an MSI K8N Neo4-F. As I said, the keyboard DOES work in grub, etc, but ONLY if the mouse is unplugged, it's like the devices are conflicting. This is also true of the Winblows loader, bootable CDs, etc. The keyboard also works during POST (with or without the mouse plugged in) until just after the end of the IDE/SATA drive detection sequence.
