Unhappy USB jump drive "read-only" in ubuntu 6.06

Hi all,

I have a USB jump drive that Ubuntu tells me is a "read only disk". I am unable to add or remove anything from this drive. Also, I have the little "lock" icon one every one of the files and directories on it. Plus I have tried changing the permissions and I am, evidently, prohibited from doing so.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Thanks.

You can try doing #sudo chmod a+rw /media/usbthingydirhere

Can you also post up your fstab if it contains anything about the USB drive?
