USB hid.o hijacking my USB Printer

I'm trying to route my USB devices through VM Ware ( because I have a USB printer that has no linux drivers at the moment ). The printer is being recognized, but it seems hid.o is hijacking and taking control over the USB device, even though it's doing nothing with it! So VMWare can't access the printer and hid.o is hogging up the printer and doing nothing with it!
I can't rmmod hid.o because my USB mouse uses hid.o. And Even if I try using it without my mouse, I need the mouse to focus in and out of VMWare ( since I need to release the cursor and move the cursor out of the VMWare window to switch to another application since any keydowns give the VMWare window focus again )
I have a Lexmark X5150 printer ( one of those all-in-ones ), and I have no clue as to how I could get hid to let go of the printer. Any ideas?

Thanks
