USB Gamepad
Hey-
i have a Nyko AIRFLO usb game controller. Suse 9.1 Pro recognizes it, at least in theory. However, if i go to "Joystick" in YAST to set it up, i can't because it doesnt hook into the sound card, its a USB... how do i properly configure a USB controller in Linux? thanks, -myk |

USB should already be running. Print the output of lsmod.

USB is working. THe controller actually works, tested it in SNES9X. Problem is, it seems the digital pad isnt working, only the analog stick. I cant get into any type of joystick configuration to troubleshoot any further.. Any ideas?

What I do if I want to reassure myself that my gamepad works is running a program called jstest on the device file representing you pad and then pushing the buttons and moving the sticks and d pad. Any changes in the output will say if it's working properly. One workaround is to use a utility that maps keyboard presses to whatever on your pad and then configure whatever program to use the keyboard. The one I use that works pretty well is qjoypad. |
thanks. I ran jstest, and it definitely works..
Question - other than killing the console window i ran jstest in, how do i terminate the application? thanks, -myk |
