USB Flash drive will not let me write.

On mandrake linux 9.1 when i mount my USB 128mb PNY Attache' in linux conf it says mount successfull. But then when i go to write to it i get this error message. "access denied, could not write to /mnt/fdd" I believe i can use it in root but that seems unreasonable to log into root to copy a file. Its mounted under vfat. So how can i make it let my normal account write to the drive?

Change the permissions of of /mnt/fdd and check your /etc/fstab
