USB device as pipe between two hosts
Hi,
I am wondering if we can with Linux create a pipe between two hosts (linux of course), so when I plug an USB disk on host1 it will be mounted on host2. Any idea is welcome ! |
Hya,
How about nfs? (export mount point) Happy Penguins! |

Hi,
I know how to use nfs, smb, ftp and sftp. What I want to know is : is it possible to use HOST1's USB from HOST2 ?, no matter what we plug on that USB port. (Disk, mouse ...keyboard....etc) So if I plug some device on HOST1'USB the host HOST2 will see that device. (like pipe over LAN) Regards. |

Now you have changed the conditions of the original post subject. You are now wanting to mount devices from one host to another. If you want 'X' services then that's another subject entirely. You can mount filesystems on another host via 'NFS' or other network filesystems for the appropriate OS. As for operations between hosts with the device(s); Disk, mouse ... keyboard and whatever 'etc' is then I suggest that you look at 'X', 'ssh' and even 'scp'. You are not going to be able to link those devices via 'NFS' support. :hattip: |
Already a linux solution.
