USB Dead after Creative Labs Zen Micro Install

My USB is dead some how. I just got a Creative Labs Zen Micro MP3 Player(better than the ipod by the way) and I installed the drivers. I think I forgot to reboot because I was so excited but I plugged it in and under Winblows and it came up as unknown USB device. At that time my mouse locked up and has refused to work ever since. Anything USB refuses to work. I just installed Slack 10 today because I got a new hard drive and I cant start X because it doesn't see a mouse. During my WinXP install the mouse didn't detect either. The light usually flashes when I reboot but it hasn't since then. None of my usb works period, does anyone have an idea as to how I could possibly reset it maybe using a jumper on the board or is it fried. I know the mouse works as I put it on another system. I have tried internal add in USB ports and those don't work either... I could really use some help with this
