USB and PS/2 Mouse conflict - "jerky" pointer movements

Hi there,

I know I'll probably need to post more info, but I'm having trouble with my ps/2 mouse and keyboard not peacefully coexisting with my usb keyboard and mouse. If both are connected at the same time, the pointer will only move in big, jerky motions, and the keyboards stop responding. If I remove the ps2's, the USB devices will resume working; if I remove the USB devices, the ps2's do not recover (same jerky motion).

I'm running redhat 9, with kernel 2.6.4, on a Dell Dimension XPS. Logitech Elite USB Keyboard, Logitech MX 500 USB Mouse, PS2 Keyboard and Mouse through a Belkin 4-port KVM.

I found a posting that said as of 2.6, you should only have one "InputDevice" line in your "ServerLayout" section. I took that advice and things were working great until I rebooted and now the problem has come back. That boggles my mind!

Thanks for any advice you might be able to give,
Jon
