try running this as root
I've seen posts about that card that say something to the effect that the kernel has a driver for it, but isn't good at recognizing and loading it. This code will be run every time the computer reboots, so I'll look into making it automatic, but just typing it should make your NIC recognized.
That said, you're very lucky. There are posts all over this website explaining what is and is not a good thread title. On the page to create a new thread, right next to where you type in the title for your thread, it says "do not name your thread 'urgent'." You'll get a lot more useful help here if you give a subject line that describes your problem. Perhaps a better title would have been "RTK 8169/8110 not recognized". I know that I'm coming off mad (sorry), and I'm not mad, but you need to know to get good help here in the future. Most people automatically skip over any thread titled "Urgent".
