unresolved symbol? (nic driver prob)

i hope someone can help me out with this. i'm running an abit is7 mobo with an onboard 3com gigabit lom for my lan connection. finally i found a linux driver (3c2000) for it that is supposed to work. according to the directions in the readme, after unpacking the tarball i was supposed to cd to the dir and then run 'make load' which i did (as root) and everything appeared to go fine....but then at the end i got a single error which states: "3c2000.o: unresolved symbol __udivdi3" i'm still enough of a newbie to linux that i have no clue how to get past this. if anyone can point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it. tia. :-) (btw, i'm running gentoo linux, kernel 2.4.20)

hello stormking I have the same problem, and it is for me clearly visible when doing make clean bzImage modules modules_install, of course when I modprobe 3c2000 too and your post is the only thing I see on google about 3c2000 __udivdi3

I am working with gentoo-sources 2.4.22-r5 (if you don't know gentoo, that is one of the available kernel packages on gentoo, which is the standard kernel with some gentoo patches)

have you found a solution?

TIA
